Akismet Spam vs Ham

Is it me or is there a clear drop in spam in 2012 presumably?

The reasons being?

  • People relying less on comment spam due to whatever reasons, including recent G updates?
  • Akismet getting worse at catching and identifying spam?
  • Blog owners using Akismet less often?
  • Comment spam becoming more intricate?
  • Whatever else?

    I guess is all related to the drop of effectiveness of blog comment spam. Probably there are less russian or chinesse guys shooting 24/7 to all blogs they can find
