No it’s not your general advice on using subdomains vs sunfolders. Notably, Matt manages not to say anything meaningful and up to the point till half into his post – and the real juice comes in comments:
Google will be less likely to show (say) 7-8 subdomains from one domain for some queries
– whatever that means. No Blogger blogs by thousand in SERPs? – I doubt. Spammer detection, life threat to spammers using subdomains? – hmm I still suspect it would take a manual review for that…
